Hello! The name is Yer or Nina. I am a 27 year old Hmong American gal living in Minnesota. I am a survivor from child sexual abuse (CSA) chasing the dream of podcasting my healing journey and trying to make a difference. I enjoy resistance training, sports, and playing League of Legends. My favorite player is Neeko!
My Why
My mission is to share my healing journey with the world and empower one another. Focusing on mental health, physical health, self-love, and purpose, I share the power of forgiveness, positivity, empathy, and living with intentions and the will to grow. During this mission I want to build friendships where we can uplift each other and spread only kindness and positivity. Together, I believe we can create a world where all can feel safe to be vulnerable and open about their traumas. My biggest goal is to prevent generational trauma and bring awareness in the area of CSA. Let's make a difference together! ♡ ̆̈
As a CSA survivor, all my life I have kept it from the public and from many family and friends until now (2023). The moment I realized I was sexually assaulted during my childhood was not till I was a teenager. What were memories that felt like dreams and flashes became reality when it was brought to my attention about odd parts of my body. From then I started to really struggle mentally. I was a very angry, negative, extra short-tempered, and I distanced myself for the most part. A decade later I finally found peace for my anger and hatred. I found forgiveness through Jay Shetty's book "Think Like a Monk". This book lead me to also work on many other aspects of my mental health such as being more positive, kind, empathetic, and grateful.
Message to younger me: I am sorry you felt abandoned and scared. I am sorry you grew up feeling silenced and guilty. You experienced so much pain at such a young age and you learned to survive all on your own. I want to let you know I am so proud of you. You held in there for the adult me to now protect other children and help others heal. Thank you for being so strong. We made it and now we're trying to help other Bosses out there. Good job to us.
Message to survivors: I am sorry we share something so burdensome, something so cruel, and something so heartbreaking. I know for a fact your journey has not been easy and I want to let you know I am so proud of you. We both know the future will be a struggle too but I encourage you to keep going. We can do this together and we can continue to heal together. Know that I am here for you, know that you do make a difference, and know that we are destined for something great. Let's keep going Boss. ❤︎
Three healthier years of fitness in the making (est. 2020). I have always been an active person with sports but two years ago I found myself physically at my lowest. I was constantly tired, over-eating, under-eating, and I was unhappy with what was happening and where I was going. I made the commitment to change and better my lifestyle and improve my health. I enjoy resistance training and have found out after Thailand that I also enjoy Muay Thai! I studied NASM and was looking forward to being a certified personal trainer but have found out fitness is more of a hobby at the moment. We never know what the future may hold and if I might change my mind though! I still share my fitness journey with the world because it was my first step into true self-love, self-care, and self-value. ʚɞ
September 6, 2022 to February 26, 2023 | For about 6 months I took a solo trip to Thailand to discover myself. I called it Project.findingme as I journeyed through the cities of Thailand; Phuket, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Hua Hin. Proj.findingme allowed me to practice loving myself, be in solitude, and discover my strengths and weaknesses. For now I have discovered that my calling is to share my healing journey and wisdom with the world. I feel that I am living purposefully by doing so and that this is why everything happened the way it did throughout my whole life. I hope you get aspire in any way to heal, grow, change, or become through my experiences.
